For nothing will be impossible with God.
Fr Varghese Kaithon
Dearly beloved in the Lord,
Under the heavenly intercession of the Holy Mother of God and the blessed leadership of Servant of God Mar Ivanios Thirumeni, the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church community that began in the land of Vakayar was blessed by Almighty God to grow into one of the major parishes in the Diocese of Pathanamthitta, currently comprising 330 families.
Constructing a new church to replace the old structure, which had deteriorated due to age, was a long-cherished dream of the parishioners. Believing in the divine promise that "Nothing is impossible with God," the construction of the new church was commenced and was completed by God's grace.
The house of worship was dedicated to the people of God and the nation through the Mooron Consecration (Mooron Koodasha), which took place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, at 9:00 AM. The principal consecrator was His Beatitude Moran Mor Baselios Cardinal Cleemis Catholicos, the Head and Father of the Malankara Syrian Catholic Church, co-officiated by Most Rev. Samuel Mar Irenios, Bishop of the Diocese of Pathanamthitta, Most Rev. Yoohanon Mar Chrysostom, First Bishop of the Diocese, and other venerable prelates of the Church.
- The construction of the church was initiated only after building and handing over homes to 8 families who lacked livable housing. By God's grace, prior to the consecration of the new church, a 9th home was constructed, blessed, and handed over to a deserving family.
- Although planned to be completed within 5 years, the construction of the church was beautifully finished with two months still remaining to complete three years.
- An additional 10 cents of land adjacent to the church was acquired during this period, which is considered a divine blessing.
- All required funds for the church construction were raised without any compulsory collections.
- Because many people outside the parish community provided financial support regardless of caste, religion, or denomination, the construction was completed much faster than expected. Therefore, this church truly deserves to be known as the 'People's Church of Vakayar' (Vakayar Palli).
Everyone who cooperated in the construction of this church was prayerfully remembered before God. We thank everyone in the name of God for joining us on that joyful day when this house of prayer for all nations—which enables a people to believe again and again that all things are possible with God—was dedicated for the people of God and the blessing of the land.
